The Central Library of the Brooklyn Public Library will host an exhibit of picture book illustrations by Sean Qualls. The exhibit spans Qualls’ earliest to most recent work, including collaborations with wife Salina Alko. Featured books: Before John Was aJazz Giant, Freedom Song, The Case for Loving, and others.

Meet David Cundy, creator of "Animals Spell Love," at Bank Street Book Store on Sunday, February 12 and hear him describe how the animals in his book use their movements, colors, and attributes to artistically spell the word LOVE on each page. David will read, sign, and answer questions from kids and grown-ups alike. He will also lead an art workshop using his unique "wordpictures" technique and letterforms. Keep in mind that David's book is an especially LOVE-ly way to acknowledge Valentine's Day.

World Read Aloud Day is all about spreading a love for reading. We think everyone in the world should get to read and write. Every year, people all around the globe celebrate World Read Aloud Day by reading and sharing stories together.
Join us in your pajamas for stories and crafts. Then leave your teddy bear or stuffed animal for a sleepover party! Come back on Friday, February 17th to pick up your teddy bear and stuffed animal and check out all the fun they had sleeping at the library!
